VascuBlem:

The VascuBlem electrocoagulation system provides you with quick and easy removal of Telangiectasia (couperose), spider veins, cherry angiomas, skin tags and many other vascular blemishes. VascuBlem is a noninvasive "touch" technique that never requires skin penetration.  Unlike laser treatment, negative side effects such as pain, scarring, bruising and hyper-pigmentation are avoided.

How does VascuBlem work?

The VascuBlem method uses a fine-tipped, sterile, disposable probe, thereby making the procedure quite safe.  Very low levels of high frequency radio waves are passed through the probe to the problem area.  This treatment is self-limiting and vessel specific, resulting in minimal skin reaction and sensitivity. The VascuBlem probe never penetrates your skin and causes very minimal discomfort. 

During a VascuBlem session the surface of the skin is cleansed and prepped for the procedure. The fine-tipped sterile probe is placed on (not under) the surface of the blemish. The VascuBlem seals each tiny vessel with the electrical current and the blood stops flowing. Most vascular blemishes fade in seconds.   Depending on the number of capillaries present, most conditions can be successfully and permanently treated in one to three sessions. With proper post-treatment care, the vessel is naturally absorbed into the surrounding tissue.  Within three to four weeks, the blemish typically disappears completely.  Skin tags, no matter where they are located on the body, can be treated in minutes with the VascuBlem, and fall off within three to four days.

What to Expect:

Some people may experience a slight ”pinprick“ sensation that can be mildly uncomfortable. However, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the area to alleviate most of the discomfort. 

After a treatment most patients feel comfortable returning immediately to work and their daily routines.  You need to pay attention not to disturb the treated vessels for 24 hours. Undue stress could cause renewed blood flow and the vessel will not dry up and be absorbed.   The treated vessel will tend to appear darker and more noticeable the day after a treatment. This is normal and a good sign that the vessel was properly treated.  Any additional care instructions will be provided by the clinical assistant at the time of your treatment.
