Cosmelan Hyperpigmentation Treatment

What to Expect:

The Cosmelan treatment begins with a facial treatment.  Once the skin is prepped the Cosmelan mask is applied.  There is no discomfort associated with the mask.  The mask will be left on for 4-8 hours and washed off by the patient at home at the time advised by the doctor. 

Post Treatment Guide:

At the time advised by the doctor, use a mild cleanser and tepid water.  The Franco Formula Gentle Cleanser is recommended. After cleansing, apply the Hydra Factor K moisturizing cream and the sunscreen.  The morning following your treatment your skin may feel sensitive.

 If your skin feels sensitive:

Morning-

Wash your face with a mild cleanser and apply the Hydra Factor K, let dry and apply sunscreen.

 Night-

Wash your face with a mild cleanser and apply the Hydra Factor K.

 If your skin does not feel sensitive:

Morning-

Wash your face with a mild cleanser and then apply Cosmelan 2. Let dry and apply the Hydra Factor K.  Let dry again and apply sunscreen.

 Night-

Wash your face with a mild cleanser and then apply Cosmelan 2. Let dry and apply the Hydra Factor K.  

 It is important to always use the Hydra K when using the Cosmelan 2. It is imperative that you always wear sunscreen during the day.  If your skin feels too sensitive to use the Cosmelan 2 twice daily, use it in the evenings only.  You may also moisturize your skin as often as you wish with any water-based moisturizer during the treatment process.  Continue the post-care regimen for 6-8 weeks, given no adverse effects occur.  You will only obtain the maximum results with Cosmelan™ if you follow the above protocol.
